Building a Sustainable
Workforce What is a
“sustainable workforce”? We believe it means a workforce that
survives over economic cycles and changes in skill sets, a workforce
that renews itself and is enduring for the future, and a workforce
that has good jobs with family-sustaining wages. We also believe
that a sustainable workforce will include a major role for “green
jobs” in a new and growing “green economy.”
Participants in the 26th Annual Employment, Training & Education
Conference will be challenged to think beyond traditional jobs and
look towards a new economy with a strong emphasis on clean energy
and environmental preservation. It will also provide an opportunity
to enhance the current partnerships between local workforce
investment boards, state and federal government partners, educators
and trainers, business, labor and other workforce development
professionals. The conference offers opportunities to exchange
ideas, knowledge and experiences to inspire creativity, uncover new
approaches, and drive innovation. |
